Introduction to the 64 Hexagrams
The I Ching is one of China's oldest divination systems, consisting of 64 hexagrams evolved from the eight trigrams. Each hexagram is composed of six lines (yao) β solid lines (yang) and broken lines (yin) form different combinations. Qian represents heaven and strength; Kun represents earth and receptiveness; Zhun represents initial difficulty. The core philosophy is 'change' β everything is in flux, and understanding the patterns of change helps you grasp the right timing. A reading includes both the primary hexagram and the changing hexagram, revealing the trend from the current state to future development.
